Minutes June 16th 2014

Meeting of the Wacton Village Hall Trustees

Present: Calvin Goreham (Chair), Peter Reason (Secretary), Don Baker, Sue Beare, Vera Cruickshank, Bob Tingley and Rev. Heather Wilcox

1. Apologies: None.

2. Minutes of the meeting on May 19th were read and approved.

3. Matters Arising
(i) PR reported on progress on the website. The structure was in place and the purchase of the domain name, fees for initial web-hosting and five years thereafter completed in the sum of £78.80.
(ii) Sue Beare and Reverend Heather Wilcox confirmed that they would become trustees.

4. Matters for Consideration.
(i) VC reported that no discussions with Tony Rowson had taken place yet about the proposed social club but that they would before the next meeting.
(ii) HW had contacted Allie Morrell of Creative Arts East to discuss projector training for the proposed film shows in the hall. They were regularly available, the next session being at the end of June. Film Hire and licence would cost £84 per session and the cost of equipment hire would be £20. It was agreed that we should apply for membership of CAE.
(iii) SB had investigated the potential of noise limiters which, while technically possible to install on amplification equipment for around £500. No further action would be taken on the noise issue unless and until there were further complaints.

5. Correspondence.
PR and CG had received a letter from Ralph Saltiel with his new business address. It was not clear whether his home address and telephone number had also changed. PR to clarify.

6. Treasurers Report
The Acting Treasurer, CG, presented the figures to 15th June:

General Account balance - £5317.18
Big Lottery balance - £3902.37

with £15018.21 in the Savings account and the same amount in the Reserve account

7. New Business
None.


8. Rebuilding Progress Report.
The priority remained the Dado rail and re-painting the Saltiel Room.

9. Fundraising and Forthcoming Events
VC reported that she had obtained grants from SNC for £250 and £450 from NCF towards the cost of mounting the WW1 commemoration.
The Open Gardens map with summary was ready for printing.
